A word about Power, Resilience,
Power is based on concepts relating to domination, separation, competition, and fear. When a person or a community is resilient with regard to an oppressive system, they entrench the system that put them at risk in the first place. Human co-power and tenacity is rooted in connectedness and compassion, humility and shared experience.
We can help students and their communities heal, learn and thrive by engaging youth in work that matters, and by creating education frameworks, institutions, and ecosystems of support that foster connectedness, collaboration, systems thinking and efficacy.
The new "main idea" of school:
Educators and youth equipped with Design Thinking bring together community partners to
co-create solutions to real issues. They learn with a purpose, apply what they learn in relevance and relationship with each other, and gain efficacy and shared power.
